For Schools — Crockett Education Consulting

For schools

The most powerful relationship in any school is between a teacher and a student.

We help schools equip teachers for the full range of learners they teach.

This is work I know from inside the classroom, the leadership team, and the moments in between.

What schools are navigating

Students haven't changed. What we know about them has.

Every classroom has always held a wide range of learners — brilliant, complex, shaped by how their minds actually work. What's changed isn't the students. It's what we now understand about cognition, executive functioning, auditory and visual processing, emotional development, and the many different shapes learning can take.

But knowing more hasn't translated into systems that see more. Teachers are asked to differentiate instruction, manage accommodations, and meet a full spectrum of needs — often without the frameworks, training, or shared language to do it consistently. Students are still expected to flex themselves to fit the system. And families are still carrying the weight of navigating it on their child's behalf.

For independently missioned schools — schools that have chosen their students, their values, and the education they stand for — the opportunity is greater than the excuse. These schools aren't beholden to the constraints public systems navigate. That freedom comes with a responsibility: to build an education that sees each child as the individual they are.

And when schools invest in seeing children this way — when difference stops being something to accommodate and becomes something to build with — classrooms don't become weaker. They become deeper. More rigorous. More human. Every child arrives with a way of thinking the classroom wouldn't have otherwise. Their individual gifts become collective strength — deepening what's possible for every student in the room, not in spite of difference, but because of it.

The problem is rarely a lack of care. It's a lack of infrastructure for the care to land.

How we work together

Designing systems that equip teachers for the full range of learners they teach.

Crockett Education Consulting partners with schools to audit what's working, name what isn't, and build the structures that turn good intentions into consistent practice. The goal isn't more programs. It's infrastructure that holds — so the right thing happens for the right student, reliably.

01

Program audits

We take a clear-eyed look at the support structures already in place — what's working, what's falling through the cracks, and where teacher effort is being spent without producing results. You'll get a specific, actionable picture of where to focus.

02

Mission-to-practice alignment

Most schools have clear values. The question is whether daily practice reflects them. We work alongside leadership to close the gap between what the school says about learners and what actually happens in classrooms, meetings, and support decisions.

03

Systems design

We help schools build the frameworks that make supporting diverse learners a shared, consistent practice — not the heroism of individual teachers. This includes referral processes, accommodations-to-classroom translation, and the connective tissue between general education and learning support.

04

Faculty development

Real faculty development is more than a PD day. We design learning experiences that give teachers practical tools for teaching responsively to individual learners — and we stay alongside as those tools move from training to classroom.

What a partnership looks like

Built for your school, not a template.

No two schools are the same. An independent K–12 and a mission-specific charter school — say, one built around the arts, or girls' leadership, or student-athletes — are navigating different versions of the same challenge. A partnership with CEC meets each school where it is.

  • Listening before recommending

We start by understanding your school, your faculty, and the specific moments where your current systems are straining. No off-the-shelf diagnosis.

  • A clear picture of what we find

You'll get a written summary of what's working, what's creating friction, and where the highest-leverage change opportunities are — with specific recommendations and the rationale behind each one.

  • Building alongside your team

Change sticks when your faculty owns it. We work with your leadership and teachers on implementation, not as outside experts but as collaborators who understand how hard the work actually is.

  • Staying through the long arc

System change doesn't happen in a semester. We're built to stay with schools as frameworks move from idea to policy to daily practice — and to help you measure whether it's landing in practice.

When the systems are right, students rise. So do the educators who teach them.

Let's look at your systems — together.
